The
Board of Directors has
scheduled the following training presentations:
Michigan State Police Emergency Support
Team Tprs. Neil
Somers and Roberto Anaya will present
the following topics: Tpr. Neil Somers will provide an overview of the
Emergency Support Team, including selection, training, response
procedures and
tactical operations. Tpr.
Robert
Anaya will present
two incidents debriefs:
Cloma incident, involving two days of negotiations with two teams
working
together. The second incident the Fremont
incident, has both tactical/
negotiator response perspective.
Winnebago
County Sheriff’s
Department Detective Jenny LeBelle and four negotiators will present
the Nekimi
Avenue Standoff, which started in the city of Oshkosh where
hostages were taken. The
incident was negotiated after a twelve-hour standoff.
Phoenix, Arizona Detective Jan Dubina will present an
incident debrief involving a hostage
situation. The
situation has some very
unique turn of events that will be an excellent learning experience for
negotiators involved in certain parallel situations.
This one has an ending that you will not want
to miss.
The
Wisconsin Crisis
Negotiators Association (WICNA) and the Criminal Justice Center for
Innovation
(CJCI) at Fox
Valley Technical College
provides this
up-to-date training.
Negotiators
in law
enforcement and corrections, their supervisors, and command officers
shall
receive critical training and information for response to the pressured
circumstances that occur.
